The ideal Ocicat as described by CFA:"The Ocicat is an agouti spotted cat of moderate type. Originating from interbreeding of Abyssinian, Siamese and American Shorthair. It is the only spotted domestic breed selectively bred to emulate the cats of the wild." Virgina Daly ,a cat breeder in Michigan, In 1964 in an attempt to produce an Aby-point Siamese accidentally created the spotted Ocicat. Mrs. Daly's daughter name this an Ocicat, because of it's resemblance to the Ocelot. Although the Ocicat may look like a wild jungle cat, it's anything but ferocious. Their social nature makes them a perfect pet around children, dogs, and other cats. You want a cat that is intelligent, and able to be trained? Then this is the breed for you. Many have been taught to respond to voice commands, walk on a leash, and to fetch like a dog. The only thing better than an Ocicat, is having two. To make things even better is they come in 12 different colors: tawny, chocolate, cinnamon, blue, lavender, fawn, ebony silver, chocolate silver, cinnamon silver, blue silver. lavender silver, and fawn silver. Occasionally instead of spotted, kittens can be classic or ticked.
